Theatre Workshop for Latin Seniors

“Building a Character”

Come with us and let your inner kid… play again.

Develop self-confidence.

Build a character by developing corporal expression and voice skills.

Find the character’s story with impro skills.

And … P L A Y.

This workshop is aimed at Latin seniors (55+) who want to develop skills such as body expression, self-confidence, and teamwork. All through improvisation and games.

(Minimum of participants required is SIX)

Mondays and Fridays

From 10 am to 12 pm

From March 6 to March 31st (Final presentation)

Fee: $300

Total of hours: 16

*This course will be delivered in Spanish. However, we welcome English Speakers interested in practicing some Spanish through theatre.

Facilitator: Lily Sigie

BIO

Lily is a Mexican-Canadian performing artist and cultural developer; she holds a BA in Performing Arts and a Master's Degree in “Development and Promotion of cultural projects.” She has over 20 years in the performing arts sector as an actress, facilitator, theatre producer and arts manager. Sigie is the author of the book: “Development of Soft Skills through Art” (2014). In 2017 she arrived in Calgary, and by 2018 she co-founded SpanicArts (Hispanic Association of Professional Artists LTD). Since then, she has been part of different cultural projects within the artistic community. Lily is a proud Rosza alumnus, having done their three programs: RAFT, RAMP and REAL.

Artist Statement:

As a creative and cultural developer, one of my basic principles is to transform realities through art and culture to collaborate with identity and, therefore, with a sense of belonging and existence within communities.
